Introducing our Newest Clinician

We are thrilled to welcome Angela Begres, LMSW to the Timber Creek Counseling Team!

Angela specializes in improving the parent-child relationship and has additional training in working with trauma, grief, and loss. Begres, LMSW is a bilingual (Spanish-English) licensed clinical social worker who completed her training at the University of Chicago. She started her career providing grief counseling through Barr-Harris Children’s Grief Center in Chicago, and also worked for Association House of Chicago, a community mental health organization.

In these roles, she provided counseling services with an emphasis on underserved and minority communities within the greater Chicago region. She is a certified mental health first aid trainer and travels nationally providing Mental Health First Aid certification training and instruction for future trainers, and is a strong advocate for stigma reduction of mental health and substance use disorders.

She works through a holistic lens that emphasizes the inseparable connection between our physical and mental health, and the environment. Her approach to therapy is client-centered and grounded in cultural humility and multicultural counseling. Timber Creek is thrilled to have her on board.
